Mitcham under 8 Black
Teams: Mitcham Black V East Burwood Rams
Summary A close and physical game today against the Rams. The Rams jumped us and kicked the first 4 goals of the game. The Blacks woke up half way through the first quarter and evened things up but we were playing catch up footy for the rest of the game. Our captain today was Daniel (the Dominator) Sagwan who led from the front and kicked our first 2 goals to lift the team. Daniel also won our player of the week award. Our medallist was Ethan Schutt who once again had leather poisoning when going into the middle. Ethan played his best game today despite a very sore hand after getting studded. Ben (the Aviator) D'Costa kick 2 goals and once again dominated the skies. Ethan (Captain Courageous) Reed once again lived up to his nickname and was in everything. Jake (the Extractor) McConnell was hard at it as always and kicked a nice goal. Chloe (the Pressure Queen) Linnett was great today including a wonderful piece of play where she smothered, took possession, ran down the ground with a long kick and then collected the ball again to keep it in our forward line. We had Riley Byrnes and Oscar and Cooper Lavelle join us from the Yellows today. All 3 played well and are welcome in the Blacks anytime. Archer Howard managed to find space today and took a few nice marks. Max Lazarus brought his team mates into the game with some precision passing and did some nice work in combination with Riley Byrnes. Camden (the Bull) Walters was terrific today and had the most contested possessions on the ground along with a great goal. The opposition coach singled out Cam at the end of the game and had his team give him a clap. Well done Cam. Thomas (the Terminator) Coulson went in hard today. Thomas saved a certain goal in the first quarter and showed plenty of run out of defence. Liam O'Dwyer used his height to advantage today and worked hard. Flynn Hardy showed plenty of run and had a clean pair of hands. A great effort today but I think the Blacks learnt that they need to play four good quarters. Go Blacks

Teams: Mitcham Yellow V Glen Waverley Rovers
Summary: With the entire team undertaking alternative training on Friday via the Antonio Park disco, the team came to play from the first bounce, led by the days Captain and birthday boy Zack Stanfield. Shout out to Andy for his birthday for tomorrow too. The game was physical from the start with a lot of run provided out of congestion from the backline through the work of Tate (looked like he was keen for a big game after enjoying 10 days in Thailand), Aston, Andy, Riley and Thomas, who came across and helped out from Mitcham Blacks. Thomas was 1 of 4 boys who played 2 full games and will sleep well tonite. Some great end to end team play in the 2nd quarter by Seth, Oscar and Jake, which saw Preston getting on the end and bombing a big torpedo goal, which saw the whole team get over and celebrate. Some players looked like they had been doing some extra practice during the week, with their best games for the year including Max, Jake and Oscar L. Great team defence and pressure was applied by Jarrod, Oscar K and Jake. The team have continued to improve and are looking forward to the much anticipated return showdown with Mitcham Black.
Best Players Andy I, Zack, Max Murphy, Jake, Tate, Oscar Lavelle

Teams: Mitcham V Glen Waverley Hawks
Summary:Prior to the game we talked about how we have influenced previous games and what we could do to influence today’s game, well, wow wee what a game......If we were scoring, but not that we do, I would have guessed that today was our first win for the year by 11 points!
Heath and Tom M were captains and lead the team out for what was a dream start, with Jack palming it down to Zac C who ran, carried and kicked long down to Harvey who took his first of many great grabs!
Zac M was not just kicking goals but saving them with some top marks on the last line of defence, while Thomas Wall was competing and winning in the ruck.
Our pressure was high throughout the game with Harvey leading the way. Ollie's grip and rip was one to see and Jack's long straight kicking shone through. An entertaining game to watch.
Best Players, Zac M.
Goals: Jack 3, Zac C 1, Jack, Harvey, Zac C Zac M

Teams:Mitcham Yellow V Wantirna
Summary:Today the Mitcham U9 Yellow team came uo against a very good side from Wantirna South. The conditions were fine and good for football. We need to start concentrating more on our kicking with eyes up. We'll work on this at training in the coming weeks. A special mention to Harper and Sam for being awarded the medals and to Thomas and Fletcher for winning the Two Brothers awards.
Best Players: Thomas Linnett, Billy Love, Harper Boyd, Sam Miskimmin, Riley Bean

Teams: Vermont V Mitcham Yellow
Summary From the outset we knew we were in for a tough match against quality opposition. Vermont got away to a flying start, with our boys not really wanting to man up or stick our tackles. However, after half time each and every one put up their hands and played some really good hard team footy. Our second half we got things back on track and I think this is probably the best we have played, doing everything that I asked of the boys. Unfortunately we went down to a better team on the day, but we did show how well we can play if we all have our minds on the job. Special mention to our Skipper Tobias Morse who led from the front and played a great game. Let's regroup and come out firing on Sunday against Lysterfield.

Teams: Mitcham 1.0-6 V North Ringwood 4.3-27
Summary: The boys were nice and pumped up for our last game at Walker Park as we knew we had competed well previously against this side. The boys tried hard early but unfortunately our tackles weren't sticking and our opponents were showing a bit more intent. The backline, led by Jaylen and Alex, held up well and only allowed 2 goals to half time even though we were struggling to put our best foot forward. We shuffled the board at half time and the third quarter saw us work right into the game and when Noah kicked truly we were only eight points down with our half backs repelling everything and our mids proving strong around the contest. Unfortunately the good work was undone a little as a momentary lapse saw them get a goal just two seconds before the third quarter time siren. As they have all year, the boys refused to give up and again held our second placed opponents up in the last with our final goal again scored just second before the final siren.
Best Players: Jaylen Allen, Noah Beyar, Caden Sleap, Alex Parigi, Ryan McConnell, Nay Chol, Stephen Stansfield

Glen Waverley Rovers 5.3-33 V Mitcham 2.1-13
Summary:In a critical game if we were any chance to play finals, we started well and kicked the first 2 goals of the game. However, like in many games so far this season, we couldn’t maintain our pressure around the contest and left the door open for Glen Waverley to get back in the game. They accepted the invitation and preceded to kick the next 5 goals of the game to run out eventual winners. We need to be harder for longer and this will be the focus for us for the rest of the season.
Best Players: Mason Porter, Heath Fox, Max Irvine, Jack Ewison, James Wilson, Angus Butler

Mitcham under 12 Girls
Teams: Mitcham V Knox
Summary: Today we came up against the top ranked team in Knox, and while we knew it would be a tough day our girls didn’t disappoint. The pressure we applied was fantastic and even though they had us covered on the scoreboard we played tough pressure football all day, especially in the second half, keeping them to just 1 goal. Division 1 is proving a tough assignment but to see all the girls improving each week and the way they support each other and work as a team is a credit to them. Today we again saw improvement from our first year players in Teagen, Zahra and Grace, and again great games by the experienced Lauren, Taya and Charlotte. Special mention to Matilda R who gave us some great drive forward in the last quarter. It’s been a tough month for the U12 Girls but the character of this team is something we are very proud of, they never drop their heads and the fight the game out until the final siren each week, great team effort again, the rewards will come girls, keep at it.

Mitcham 7.4-48 V Croydon 3.3-21
Summary:Round 10 had the young Tigers heading back down Maroondah Hwy to Barngeong Reserve to play Croydon. Good result for the boys today. Croydon played hard, tough football and made the boys work to get on top. After a sluggish start we improved our effort in the 2nd half. We gained midfield dominance which was a key factor in our victory. As we head towards the finals we need to continue to bring EFFORT and TEAM WORK to every game.

Teams: Mitcham 14.7-91 V Heathmont (19)
Summary It took r10 to take on the Heathmont Jets for the first time this season. One way traffic in the first showed that we now have a determination to make an impact from the onset & not after half time. It was pleasing to see a mutual respect with many of the Jets being friends & school mates of our Cubs. Great to play a Club like Heathmont that respects their opponents which ensures a healthy Cross town rivalry. Well done Heathmont Jets.
Best Players: Lachlan, Ashton, James, Luke
Mitcham under 14 Girls
Teams: Mitcham 6.6-36 V The Basin 1.2-8
Summary: One playing two at home, the girls were up and ready to go. Training Thursday night was great, the lead up to the game was fantastic, excitement and nerves It was going to be the making of a good game. The Basin jumped out of the blocks hitting the forward line time and time again, then all of a sudden the team game plain kicked in run and carry numbers around the packs man up, build the wall and lock it in. The on ballers running hard Olivia jade and Lilly, backed up by Jess and Grace outstanding work. The backline was strong physical and tough at times Luccy D the rock calling the shots well lead by the half backline the three M, Meg Meagan and Marissa. Strong games from Phoebe and Allanah. The forwards moved and ran the Basin backline ragged, physical at times tough in the packs but the girls stood strong .Luccy O and Kiarra A, very strong at times. Maggie Browne very strong at either end of the ground. In the middle Charlotte Jess Ali Jas and Keyani running hard and causing problems. All in back up your mates hit the packs hard, every girl played in a number of positions and showing heaps of class. Pleasing things the girls are now taking on the opposition, working with kicking and hand balling with the other side of their body

Teams: Mitcham V Donvale
Summary: We travelled to Donvale for our round 10 clash. With a heavy emphasis on talking, shepherding and being first in for the footy at training this week, it was good to see the boys apply all aspects, especially in the second half. Players such as Raph, Tonnam, Mason and Alwyn were going in hard to win the footy. Pat, Boothy, Mackay and Luke were protecting their teammates with good solid shepherds. While Jack, DT, Fletch and Sheraz provided plenty of talk around the contests to help direct and encourage their teammates. All of this as well as some great individual efforts from James, Fletcher M., Dan N. and Denzell guided us to a much deserved win. Well done to all the boys for their efforts today as we continue to build momentum towards the end of the season.
Goals: James 5, JP 2, Dan T., Mac, Mason, Tonnam

Mitcham V Montrose
Summary:Unfortunately the U15 group was unable to reproduce the same success as the last time they played Montrose. Playing 19 from a possible 25 was always going to be difficult, further hampered with another concussed player reducing the bench to zero. The group were dissapointed in not being able to celebrate Patrick Cotter's 100+ game with what would have been a rousing victory. This game has ups and downs, what is needed from this point is a focused effort from all players, to get finish training and a contest knowing everyone contributed to their upmost.
Best Players: Ethan Wu, Wil Drake, Declan Magee, Patrick Cotter
Goals: Barr (2), Doidge (1), Magee (1)
