Volunteer

Doncaster baseketball club runs on the kind support of our volunteers. There are many formal roles you can volunteer for a few examples below:

Coaches

Coaching is a rewarding way to give back to the support, build skill in our young athletes and get involved in basketball in a different way. Our volunteer coaches include parents, older players or family and friends of the club. As a coach, you will be offered training, equipment and support. Coaches have one training session per week on a Monday to Thursday, and games on Saturday. While there is an expectation that coaches will attend as many training sessions or games as possible, they may ask other parents or club members to step in for them from time to time if they have other commitments.

EDJBA/VJBL team coordinators

Our Team coordinators will provide support to organise teams at the beginning of each season. The Team coordinators will watch games throughout the season, talk to coaches, and compile teams once registrations close. They will also assist in resolving any issues with team selections and requests for changes, and if required assiting team managers arrange fill-ins.

Other ways to volunteer

We are always keen for volunteers to contribute to the club. Volunteering helps build a sense of community and encourages participation by our younger players. Some of the ways you can volunteer include:

  • Lending your IT skills to help us improve our systems
  • Providing photography, media, graphic design or communication skills to help us with our communication strategy
  • Event planning and assisting our end of season for presentation day

Please feel free to email admin@doncasterbasketballclub.com.au to enquire about any of the above roles.
