Two Divisions have been establishlished for the Tournament.

Elite Divison

The Elite Division is a 24 team, multi pooled competition for open age players.  Entry is by team nomination. 

Prize money of $5000.00 has been allocated to this competition and the two Grand Finalists will be flown to Vladivostok, Russia, for the World Tour Event on July 22 and 23. 

Teams entering the Elite Division must be available to compete at the World Tour event.  All members of the team must have a passport, with 12 months validity, which they must present at the commencement of the tournament.

All games, subject to weather conditions, wll be played outdoors on the Geelong Waterfront.  Games will played across Saturday June 9 with finals on Sunday June 10.

In the event that entries exceed the 24 team limit, the Organisers may extend the competition, or will have the right to grade entries based on information received about the players in the team.  Organisers are seeking a wde representation of teams, and will look favourably on applications from Interstate teams to ensure a broad representation.

Basketball Australia will have selectors in attendance, reviewing talent for the Australian World Championship team, which will compete in Athens in August 2012.

Participation Division

The Participation Division is just for fun.

Up to 192 teams will be allowed to enter the participation division in U12 through Open Groupings Groupings.

Junior teams or senior teams can enter to try out the new format. 

Teams will play at least 4 pool games + finals.

Games will be played at the Geelong Arena and Corio Leisuretime Centre, with finals on the Geelong Waterfront Courts (Weather and conditions permitting).

Basketball Australia will have selectors in attendance, reviewing talent for possible selection in future Australian Under 18 squads (tournaments for both boys and girls in September 2012!).
