Victorian Futsal Premier League: Round Three Wrap

The 3rd Round of competition has produced some great goals and two very tightly contested encounters between Vic Vipers & St Albans and the Bayside Pirates & Cobras whilst Pascoe Vale’s unbeaten streak continued with a solid win over the Joma Jaguars. The EFA Eagles were the team to rest this week.

Vic Vipers FC 3
(Jonathan Barrientos 10’ Barrigos 20’ Cooper 40’)
St Albans Strikers FC 2 (Tadashi Yamashita 23’ Jose Portillo 32’)

The opening game of the night brought together the great rivals of the Vipers and Strikers and it lived up to all expectations. 10 minutes after Barrientos’ early goal Miguel Barrigos went on a great mazy run and applied the finishing touch to put the Vipers 2 goals to the good. The Strikers fought back however with goals on either side of halftime to bring the scores level at 2 and with Barrientos receiving his second yellow card in the same minute it seemed the momentum has truly shifted towards the St Albans Strikers.
Not to be denied the Vipers fought back and found a hero in Adam Cooper who scored from distance to settle the tie and give the Vipers 3 crucial points.

Bayside Pirates FC 0
Cobras FC 1 (Skok 37’)

The Cobras bounced back from their disappointing loss last week and claimed all 3 points in a tightly contested match against a slightly depleted Bayside team. The Pirates did also field the youngest player in the competition thus far in15 year old Gavin Petrolo. The game was decided by a great shot in the 37th minute to the bottom right corner from Christian Skok who was sorely missed in round 2.

Pascoe Vale FC 6 (Soufi 3’ 20’ 29’ Caro 5’ Simsek 35’ Kruel 49’)
Joma Jaguars 0

Pascoe Vale has continued their great form having put 6 goals past the Jaguars without reply resulting in PVFC’s second clean sheet of the season. The goals were split evenly 3 in each half with Sofiane Soufi claiming Man of the match honours with a great hat-rick. Andre Caro, Oner Simsek & Lucas Kruel all got on the scoresheet for the first time this season. Pascoe Vale will now enjoy their Bye rounds only to return to face a stellar test from the Vic Vipers on the 12th of June.
