Victorian Futsal Premier League: Round One Wrap

Football Federation Victoria’s Futsal Premier League kicked off on Wednesday with a healthy crowd in attendance to witness six of the seven participating clubs in action.This season’s games are hosted in YMCA Derrimut’s new stadium which provide the perfect conditions for the competition.
The EFA Eagles & Pascoe Vale FC got off to winning starts in round 1 whilst the Cobras and Jaguars fought out a 2-2 draw. Last season’s champions the Vic Vipers will commence their title defence in Round Two on the 15th of May.

EFA Eagles 4 (Hamre 5’ 16’ 28’ Telez 12’)
Bayside Pirates 3 (Vaughan 26’ J. De Biase 27’ Yaw 45’)

The Eagles took a handy 3-0 half time lead with Erik Hamre scoring two of his three goals early on. New Zealand international James Vaughan started a Pirates comeback with De Biase also scoring in a one minute spell to make a game of it but Hamre lifted the Eagles again completing his hat trick in the 28th minute. Bayside pulled a goal back late to bring up the final score of 4-3 to the Eagles.

Pascoe Vale 2 (Soufi 14’ Rocca 35’)
St Albans Strikers 0

New arrivals to the league Pascoe Vale has wasted no time to display their full potential winning a tough encounter against St Albans Strikers. The goals arrived either side of half time by Sofiane Soufi in the 14th minute and Matteo Rocca in the 35th minute. Pascoe Vale were also the first team to keep a clean sheet thanks to Lorenzo De Paris.

Jaguars 2 (Bahiru 40’ Aguek 45’)
Cobras 2 (Skok 35’ 44’)

The Jaguars and Cobras played out a 2-2 draw in their opening encounter with a scoreless first half and an exciting second half with all the goals scored in a ten minute goal fest. Christian Skok opened the scoring in the 35th minute for the Cobras which was cancelled out by Abel Bahiru five minutes later only for Skok to do the trick again in the 44th to establish a 2-1 lead. However Aguek Aguek brought the teams level only 60 seconds later.
