Gippsland Knights Preparations for Season 5
Preparations for Season 5 of the Victorian Champions League (VCL) are now well advanced with the proposed kick off on the weekend of 20/21 October and finish on 15/16 December.
The structure of the competition is based on a home and away type competition that is likely to include 3 Gala weekends - 1 inLatrobe Valley and 2 in metropolitan Melbourne.
As it’s done in the previous 4 years, this season of the VCL will continue to be an integral part of the player pathway.
Players in younger age groups will be identified throughout the season for State selection while the U17 boys will have opportunities to be selected in a Youth Program who play against A-league teams, such as Melbourne Heart, and are offered opportunities for further development.
Players looking to be considered for selection in the 2013 relative age groups - U13, U15 & U17 Girls or U13, U14, U15 & U17 Boys squads will need to attend trials are to be held at Burrage Reserve Newborough between 5.50pm to 7.30pm on Monday 10th, Wednesday 12th & Friday 14th September– please note, all players will need to register prior to participating in the trials.
While coaches for most age groups have been appoint, the Knights are still looking for a suitably qualified coach for the U15 Boys. Anyone interested should contact the Head Coach Chris Van Lambaart on 0417 100 477.
