SAPVic competes in Football Federation Tasmania's annual Festival of Football.

Though no results or standing were recorded, the SAPVic squads pitted themselves against quality interstate opposition, playing on the world class Aurora Stadium in Launceston against teams from Tasmania, Western Australia, South Australia and the Australian Capital Territory.

The SAPVic squads were selected from SAP foundation winter squads and Skilleroos trials held late last year, and included Skilleroos White 2001, Skilleroos Blue 2001, VIC Country 2001, VIC Country 2002 and VIC Metro 2002.

Ivan Jolic, Skill Acquisition Trainer for Victoria, said he was thrilled with the festival and how his squads performed.

“The spirit of the festival was excellent and the players were given the opportunity to express themselves in a wonderful environment which was supported by parents and family,” Jolic said.

"The SAPVic teams played some excellent football and a special mention must be made to our two regional squads who equipped themselves extremely well against their metro counterparts.  Our investment in SAP Foundation regional squads is starting to pay dividends.

“I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank Unibind and F&F Martino for their support of our SAPVic squads, and acknowledge Football Federation Tasmania - particularly Spencer Prior, Anthony Alexander and Kylie Prendergast - for their efforts and professionalism over the course of the weekend.”
