2012/2013 SUMMER ROAD & TRACK AGGREGATE
This year’s aggregate will have more races than last year.
Criterium races from 18/11/12 to 9/12/12, the road Xmas handicap on 16/12/12, & criterium races from 20/1/13 to the 24/3/13. The Tony McCaig criteriums are included.
Criteriums held in January prior to 20/1 are not part of the series, & the format of these races will be decided on the day.
The feature handicap race finals on track nights between 18th October & 14th March are part of the series. As not all nights have a handicap race, riders should refer to their program.
Scoring shall be 12, 10, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 for the 1st 10 placegetters in road & track races.
Also, in “A” grade criteriums, 2 intermediate sprints will be held & the points will be 3, 2, 1.
In other grades, when intermediate sprints are held they will be for prizes, not points.
Criterium start times will be – D grade 0840; C grade 0900; B grade 0930; A grade 1015 .
Race distance will be – D grade 20 minutes & 2 laps;
C grade 30 minutes & 3 laps;
B grade 45 minutes & 3 laps;
A grade 60 minutes & 3 laps.
Race entry for each grade in the road /criterium races will be $10.
The initial grading of riders should remain throughout the series, but unknown riders may start on a provisional grade. Riders who are re-graded do not take points from their previous grade.
Where possible, D grade shall contain a racing marshal to help entrants improve race techniques & etiquette, as this grade is considered a development grade.
Grades may start a few minutes after advertised, due to previous grades finishing.
If you wish to enter, you should do so a minimum of 15 minutes prior to race time.
Early entries will be accepted by contacting the handicappers; Petar Benjamin, Justin Leske or Syd Anstee via text or email.
A compulsory briefing for each grade will be held 5 minutes before racing, & no entry will be taken for that grade after the briefing has commenced.
Entrants should be aware that on days of high advertised temperatures, the races of that day will be shortened. This will mean that start times will be earlier than the above times so all competitors should arrive early on hot days.
Races may also be shortened in the event of low grade numbers or non competitive riding.
Note that this series is entirely separate from the track aggregate. Both series’ use a different scoring system so that a ( track handicap ) score may be different for each aggregate.
Presentations for this series will be held at a club barbecue at 6:00 PM on the 24/03/2013, together with the track season presentations.
