BIG V ROUND 3 PREVIEW

BIG V PREVIEW – WARRIORS V STEELERS
Pakenham 'Compare Quotes' Warriors Vs Western Port Steelers
When and Where: Saturday 6th April, 8:00pm @ Somerville Recreation & Community Centre
Season Series: First Meeting
Current Standings: Warriors (1-1), Steelers (0-2)

The ‘Compare Quotes’ Warriors BIG V Men head on the road again this Saturday evening when they visit Western Port, hungry to continue their winning ways.

Prior to the Easter break the team defeated Mornington Breakers 91-73 Sunday in Round 2 action with a packed crowd at the Colosseum witnessing five players in double figures showing the balance of the new look squad.

Following from the positive result, the team has been dealt a major blow with rising star Sean Armstrong now on the long term injury list but the Warriors have been swift to act signing 10 Year State Championship Men’s star Jeff Reid who will line-up for his first game in blue tomorrow.

Adding to the positivity is the return of Warriors stalwarts Daniel Stow and Bill Winder who missed the Mornington game along with the news captain James Topp being announced as league player of the month for March showing why he was highly sought after by coach Ryan Rogers during the off-season.

The Steelers finished 2012 in 7th place (9-11) and have opened the season with two losses under third year coach Justin Bourchier returning the majority of his roster with Vlad Tankov and Dalton Willshire the only outgoings. On the flip side the team has recruited one time Warriors Michael Yialis and Tyson Harding along with mature age rookie Ben Van Leeuwen who has been leading the way with 12ppg.
