With BIG V recruit Jay Ferriere hosting the Pakenham Warriors first School Holiday Camp along with other BIG V stars, it’s fair to say that this event is one that will appear on the calendar for many years to come.

Arriving at the 'Colosseum' with 50 pre-registered campers Jay was ecstatic to see such a fantastic turnout with over 50 additional children arriving to participate bright and early. "It was great to see a number of new faces but also many children who participate in the Warriors VJBL program" said Ferriere.

Speaking at the completion of the camp BIG V Coach Ryan Rogers spoke about the success saying "all the work in the community over the past five months was highlighted this week and our future development hinges on this level of enthusiasm at grass roots levels."

When asked about his first camp experience with the Warriors, Ferriere said "What a great response, 100+ kids to the first camp of its kind for the club is a true testament to the organisation."

"There's a lot of local talent in and around the Pakenham district, and its fantastic to finally provide an avenue for such talent to be developed. The kids came in hungry to learn and even in the short period of two days, you could see steps of improvement. To have fellow teammates from the BIG V men's team come down & help coach was great, the kids really connected with having coaches from THEIR team come & invest time with them."

"We look forward to seeing all the kids making plenty of noise at our upcoming home game on Saturday 20th April against Maccabi."
