The Warriors BIG V Men open their 2013 campaign this Saturday evening when they make the trek to Coburg in a game that is important for two sides looking to establish winning cultures.
Ryan Rogers’ men have put in a solid pre-season and with the major acquisitions of Jay Ferriere and James Topp to accompany a strong local contingent with mid range specialist Bill Winder, 2012 All Star nominee Sean Armstrong, exciting point guard James Magrath and Jay Richardson crossing from Blackburn there are people talking that they can reverse a horror 2012.
On the other side of the fence the Giants finished in eighth place at the completion of last season and not unlike the Warriors have had some changes in the off-season with Nathan Marsh stepping up to take the reins from their Youth League program. On court sees Robert McCoy cross from Keilor while the departures include versatile John Pilkington (Keysborough) and import Richard English Jnr (Released).
