MMBL ROUND 6 RECAP

In the first home double header for the season the Division 1 Men opened up with a win a 71-58 win against Salvation Army before the Premier Men continued the successful night for the Warriors defeating Collingwood 41-27.

The Division 1 Men had a solid four quarter performance holding the upper hand for the entire night with Jake Heyen and Leon Stapley the standouts as Craig Drew and James Flannery controlled the tempo of the game from the guard spots.

The Premier Men were locked in an arm wrestle as a very tightly officiated game restricted both teams from getting a rhythm for the first three quarters. In the fourth quarter our guys were able to string some stops together and with Tim Eakins catching fire in the mid range the game was secured.

Coach's Comment:
It was great to have both teams playing back to back and have a healthy crowd in attendance. I was pleased with the display both teams put on and as has been the case in previous weeks we will continue to work on our approach to the defensive end as its currently the area which I see as our major deficiency collectively.
