Short History
Shoalhaven District Junior Soccer Association was formed on 4th February 1963 and was called Shoalhaven Junior Soccer Association, and the first teams came from Nowra Youth Club, Nowra Primary,Bomaderry Primary, and Terara schools a total of six teams played the first year, in 1972 the Association renamed itself Shoalhaven District Amatuer Soccer Association and included senior teams in the competition for the first time, even though senior teams were active within Shoalhaven from around late 1940's games were played as social's with visiting teams,most players were from HMAS Albatross, in the early 1970's senior teams played in a competition with teams from Southern Tablelands and the Higlands. In 2007 the Association changed its name to Shoalhaven District Football Association the Association has over 3000 players both male and female playing in competitons. The area of the Association takes in Gerringong to Just North of Batemans Bay. Home ground is at South Nowra Sporting complex which boasts six fields, all with irragation and all fully floodlit.
We play football all year round, with the winter competitions completing in September and Summer 7 a side starting in October for both Senior's and Junior's.
Also Southern NSW teams Southern Branch and South East Phoenix field teams in Football NSW Association Youth League, Skill Aquisition Programs ( Under 9 to Under 12 Boys and Under 13 Girls, SE Phoenix ply in the NPL from Under 14 to 1st Grade.
