Basketball Officials SA

Basketball Officials SA is an organisation dedicated to the development and education of referees in metro and country South Australia.  It is made possible by the support of South Australian basketball governing body Basketball SA, SA Country Basketball Council and all affliated associations, organisations and centres.

Membership to Basketball Officials SA is "FREE" to all referees and officials throughout South Australia though individual organisations may have differing membership requirements and some may charge a membership fee.  However, it is a requirement of membership with Basketball Officials SA that you are a finanical member of Basketball SA or one of the affiliated organisations.

Being a referee in an affiliated organisation grants you automatic membership with Basketball Officials SA but is subject to completing the required registration form and acceptance by the committee.

Basketball SA Referee Membership

All referees involved in Basketball SA competitions are required to renew their membership on an annual basis by verifying their details and completing the membership form and paying an annual membership fee. The membership fee may vary depending on the panel and developement squad the official has been allocated to. 

General Membership - Basketball Officials SA

Referee membership will run from October in each year through to September of the following year.  This corresponds to the Summer and Winter seasons plus CABL of the Basketball SA calendar and also SA Country Basketball season.

Funds generated from membership go directly back into referee development and cover things like Basketball SA referees under the Basketball SA Sports Injury & Personal Accident Insurance policy.
Memberships Fees also provide additional funding for the following projects:

• Referee Education Courses
• Referee Coaches for development 
• Provision of external training providers for Development Squad Programs
• Materials, software and equipment for referee development

Membership can be applied for from this website and annual membership fee (if applicable) can be made on-line at time of registration. Payment can be made by credit card, or through one of Basketball SA local stadiums.
