Summer Season Grand Final 2012

What an amazing event with Celtics A men taking out the coveted prize of the Skytrans A Grade mens compitition. Celtics defeated Blazers 92-47. A highly anticipated match between the seasons top two teams, Celtics blew past the minor premiers Blazers with an impressive opening quater from Hoani Walker-Tepania.  Hoani scored 17 points in the opening term from his game total of 38 to lay the platform for Celtics, including 2 three pointers and showed hang time in getting up there to perform his signature slam-dunks.  Marjad Page was the game MVP with 24 points for the game, with a solid defensive effort helping restrict the scoring.  Blazers Ray Browning, the season MVP, top scored for his team with 23 points.

Women's A Grade Industrea was won when Matariki defeated Celtics 39-27. The games MVP was Slikia Patawai with 21 points for the game. Matariki are also the minor premiers for the season.

Women's B Grade Realway Blazers defeated Highlanders 36-19.  Highlanders couldn't keep their run through the finals going and succumbed to a stron Blazers team whose defence and offence were superior on the day.  Susan Freeman took the title of MVP for the match, having had a strong game despite being on the losing side.  13 points each from Shaqeigha and Chontelle George proved to be the diffence.  The minor premiers we Kangas and MVP for the season was Camilla Mitchel from Dribblers.

Women's C Grade Buffs Dreamers defeated Kinetic 2 16-13.  MVP for the game was Christina Boyd. Alison Harris' 3-pointer broke the deadlock to win the match.  Meteorettes were the minor premiers with Lee-Ann Bryant from that team the season MVP.

Men's B Grade Campbells Mount Isa Mavericks defeated Blazers 61-41. Minor Premiers Mavericks continued their dominance in the season with Jamari Cesares claiming bothe the Grand Final and Season MVP.  Zac Hodgett's haul of 17 points including 3 three pointers was unable to haul back the early lead established by the Mavericks.

Men's C Grade 2PHTeam Pilipinas defeated Kinetic Mens 3 48-41. A closely fought match, the lead changed hands several times. Kinetic 3 were unlucky to lose Kurt Stachnill to injury with 4 minutes to go in the fourth quarter and Team Pilipinas were able to hold on.  Man of the Match Shane McCarthy had 14 points.

Junior Competition QCCU. was won by the White team when the defeated the Blue 37-36 with the winning basket coming from Michele Kahonda with 5 seconds lef in the game.
