Phoenix Award

The Phoenix Volunteer Program has been created by the USQ Student Guild in or der to give students the opportunity to gain work experience and to boost their employability skills. The Phoenix Volunteer Program works hand-in-hand with the Student Guild Phoenix Award Program and provides students with the opportunity to get involved with the community and to develop the self-confi dence needed to succeed in life.

A volunteer is someone who contributes to the wider community primarily because they choose to do so, and in order to help others. Volunteers donate their time regularly to non-profit organisations, and or charitable events. Volunteering can be a rewarding experience in many ways. People choose to volunteer for different reasons, and hopefully, you will too. If you are wondering why you should volunteer, have a look at the reasons below:
  • Volunteering develops life skills.
  • Volunteering enhances your resume.
  • Volunteering increases self-awareness.
  • Volunteering offers a wealth of opportunities.
