Why affiliate with Motorcycling Australia?
There are several reasons why non-competitive clubs and organisations should consider affialiating with Motorcycling Australia. These are detailed below:
Get with the Strength
Motorcycling Australia has been around since 1928. It’s run by motorcyclists for motorcyclists. You’ll be joining Australia’s peak motorcycling body which has offices in all States and the Northern Territory.
Your voice will be added to our 28,000 existing members and nearly 400 affiliated clubs.
Insurance Cover
Affiliating with MA means you can access the same Public Liability insurance policy that covers motorcycle sport in Australia. This means that your club is covered in case of a claim by the public up to $50 Million.
Your club, its Officials and Event Organisers will be protected by the umbrella of Motorcycling Australia’s Insurance Public Liability Policy.
Your club will be also covered by a compulsory Associations Liability Cover which includes:
- Cover for the Directors and Officers of your Club
- Loss of Documents
- Professional Indemnity cover
- Libel & Slander cover
- Employment Practices liability cover
- Fidelity cover
- Trade Practices and Related Legislation
This policy provides valuable insurance protection to affiliated organisations of up to $5 million for any one claim and $10 million in the aggregate (various costs including excesses apply).
$10 off Motorcycling Australia Membership (and access to Member Benefits)
Current Club members will be able to join the Motorcycling Australia Riders’ Division for $10 off‐ just $25 a year.
As a Riders’ Division member, they’ll get access to hundreds of Member Benefits, which provide more than 100 discounts and deals ranging from discounted motorcycle insurance to tyres and accessories.
Free Event Permits
There is no charge for a Non‐Competitive Permit for on‐road or off‐road events, but charges apply for events conducted primarily on private property, eg ride days.
A permit must be obtained for each event which involves any form of club‐arranged motorcycle activity, but Permits are not required for non‐motorcycle activities, e.g. club meetings, working bees, etc.
Permits will only be granted to affiliated organisations who agree to run the event following the current Motorcycling Australia Non‐Competitive Manual and any other conditions required by Motorcycling Australia.
Please contact the MA Riders’ Division (riders@ma.org.au or 03 9684 0500 before applying for events longer than 5 days duration or for events for more than 500 participants.
The issuing of a Permit will activate the Public Liability cover for the event.
Advertising Opportunities
Non-competitive clubs and organisations are able to advertise their events on MA's Non-Competition Calendar.
Putting back into Motorcycling
Paying affiliation fees to join MA will ensure that the money spent will be put back into developing and enhancing motorcycling in Australia.
