BTL Zone Championships
The dates are set for the Zone Championships, in the BTL U15 and U17 Tournaments. The San Ignacio U15 Champs, Harlem, along with the U17 Champs, Benque Eagles will be travelling to Belmopan on Saturday, April 9, 2011 to challenge the champions from Belmopan. The first game will start at 7 p.m. at the Hilltop Basketball Court in Belmopan, which is adjacent to the tennis court, beside the ring road. At 8:30 p.m., Benque Eagles will take on the U17 Champs from Belmopan.
On Sunday, the series will move to the Falcon Field in San Ignacio Town, where the U15 will kick off game 1 at 5 p.m., followed by the U17 game at 7 p.m.
Both series will use a best-of-three format, where if a Game 3 is needed, it will be played on the home court of the team that has the bigger margin of victory, in the 2 games played. The U15 game will be 8 minutes/quarter, while the U17 game will be 10 minutes/quarter.
The winners will then represent the Western Region, as they advance to the BTl National Championship, which will take place on April 15 & 16, 2011. The National BTL Tournament will be hosted by the Orange Walk Basketball Association, where Game 1 will commence on Friday evening, starting at 3 p.m.
