This is yet another important job that needs to be done and Mike and his team of volunteers do a great job. Mike is available to "man" the bar at every home game and club functions and he tries to be there for all the private functions as well, but doesn't mind missing one or two if there are others that can fill in. Mike has brought his own personality and energy to the bar and takes great pride in presenting both himself and the bar image and products to the highest standard. He's more than happy to serve you your alcoholic beverage of choice - and if he doesn't have it - then he'll try his damdest to get it.
Val is yet another dedicated team member who puts in many hours to ensure the best quality of food is available to club members, supporters and the general public. Over the years our burgers and fries have become the envy of many other footy clubs around brissy, and Val has not let anybody down in maintaining this standard. She has been successful in expanding the selection and has even tried to make us all be a little healtheir in our choices. Val also has a team of dedicated volunteers to help her and the roster of volunteers on game days are absolutely essential to offering our customers great service. Both Val and the club management team are forever grateful of any assistance provided to help in the canteen - every little bit counts.
The club is available to members and the general public for hire for any function you can think of - birthdays, weddings, engagements, christmas parties and corporate seminars and conferences. All of this is done in a professional manner with a "Function Package" that covers just about everything the hirer needs. The club tries to cater to all special requests - where practical. This job could not be done without the assistance of both Keith - the Maintenance Manager to clean up afterwards and the team of Bar staff that volunteer whenever they can. Functions are an integral part of assisting the club to be financially viable - so when it seems that we are all tired and burnt out from a hectic season of footy - it is imperitive that we keep going for the benefit of the club and its members.
The rest of the dedicated team is made up of various club members who provide theyr time and energy to volunteer wherever and whenever they can = without whom we sometimes could not function without - they include: Arthur who helps do the raffles and general fundraising around the club; Renee who helps out in the bar and the canteen whenever she can; Ronnie Bloye who is the "unofficial" photographer and cinematographer of the club; Glen Smith, Chairperson of the Junior AFC; Liz Bastian who has dedicated many years at the club in various roles from Chairperson of the Juniors to Fundraising Co-ordinator, helping behind the bar, in the canteen and wherever else she is needed; Candace Smith who helps out at EVERY game doing the interchange and also co-ordinating the player registrations. Candace also helps out in and around the bar and canteen when she can.
Our Current Senior Coach is Graham Henwood (Gug). Graham has held several positions in and around the Club but coaching is his passion - coaching junior teams, Under 18's (2010 Premiers) and Seniors. Graham has generously given his time and energy to the club, pulling himself away from his active and busy family and work schedule. Graham is a Carlton (Blues) Supporter.
Graham jas a team of helpers to assist him in this role both at training and on game days.
