STRANGER DANGER
Following an incident on Thursday night at Training  where players were accosted by a man in the ladies toilets, we urge every club to be vigilant when training up at the complex, and suggest that any players going to the toilets are accompanied by an adult at all times.
 
This was a serious incident, and the police are following this up as it wasn’t an isolated incident in the area.
 
Please take this very seriously, as we do not want any of our players put in this position or worse.

Please also take great care and ensure players are picked up by their parents from the courts, not left to wait outside the gates as again, we are getting a lot of people hanging around the carpark.
 
 
 
 

 
SCORECARD REMINDER
When filling in details on the back of the scorecard for players playing up from a lower grade: Enter the team number that the player has come up from not the team number of the team she will be playing up for. This detail is already on the front of the scorecard. The grade playing up from needs to be the division not the age group i.e. : Division 3 not 13 Under
 
 
 
 

 
Timer Responsibility
 
The time keeper must sit and remain in the marked box area for the duration of the game except for the final 15 secs of each quarter to follow the umpire.
The timer cannot personally decide to hold time for any reasons! Time is only held when directed by the umpire.
 
 
LEVEL 1 UMPIRING COURSE
WDNA will be conducting two Level 1 umpiring courses on July 19 and 20. Only a few spaces left for both courses so get your entry in. Forms available on website.

Expressions of interest are invited from teams wishing to participate in Venetians Netball Club’s Inaugural Netball Rally to raise funds for ovarian cancer.

 Round robin style event
 
 Held on 16th October 2011
 
 Located at Kingsway Netball Courts
 
 All teams to provide their own competent umpire and team equipment
 
 Raffles, shooting competitions, stalls, and canteen available on the day
 
 Cost per team $100 (up to 9 players per team)

2011/2012 STATE ACADEMY PHASE 1 TRIALS
All Netball WA members who are age eligible (between 14 and 16 years of age as at December 2011) are invited to register for Phase 1 trials for the 2011/2012 State Academy.  Details for the trials are as follows: Registration Forms are attached.

COST:                    $20 per athlete
 
To be considered for selection in the 2011/12 State Academy and 2012 17/U State Team, attendance on Sunday 21 August 2011 is compulsory.
 
Successful athletes will be required to attend Phase 2 trials which will be held on Sunday 28 August 2011.  At the completion of Phase 2 trials the 2011/12 State Academy will be announced.
 
This year there will be no exemptions from Phase 1 trials and all athletes must attend.  Consideration of exemption will be given to athletes that are injured and for extenuating circumstances but this will not be a guarantee through to the next phase.

ACADEMY CUP – ARENA JOONDALUP
The Netball WA Academy Cup is Netball WA's major specialised event, providing athletes aged 13 - 16 the opportunity to compete in a state competition as the culmination of the Netball WA Academy program.
The Netball WA Academy Cup showcases the most talented athletes within this age group and the competition is fierce and highly competitive
2011 competition will be held at Arena Joondalup on 15, 16-17 July
We encourage all members to drop in and check out some great netball on Friday 15th (1st game 5.30pm), Saturday 16 July (1st game 9.00am) and Sunday 17 July (1st game 9.00am).  Grand Final will be 3.15pm on Sunday 17 July 2011.
