SISTERS JOIN FORCES FOR THE MUSTANGS

The three Fox sisters have played basketball since they were old enough to walk, talk and shoot.

But this season has signalled a first for the talented trio as part of the Maitland Mustangs’ club they have grown up with.

Hannah, Amy and Kellie have joined forces for the Mustangs’ women in the Waratah Championship League.

Social games aside, this has been their sole chance to play alongside one another in the top grade.

For eldest sibling Kellie, 25, the lure of lining up with 23-year-old Amy and 17-year-old Hannah was enough to convince her to don the black, red and white singlet once more.

“I wasn’t going to play at all this year but Hannah and Amy said you have to because it’s the first time we can all play together,” Kellie said.

“So they made me play but it has been a good experience.”

The East Maitland treble will be hoping to have that winning feeling at some stage this year as well after starting the season 0-7.

It has been a tough return for the Mustangs’ women, who have missed three of the last four Waratah Championship seasons.

A new-look squad has many fresh faces but they will try and rise to the occasion against the Bankstown Bruins at Maitland Federation Centre on Saturday.
