U16 Div 1 Women Make it to State Championships. 

Congratulations goes to our U16 Div 1 women for qualifying

for the State Championships to held in Sydney in August.

After going into the final round of CPL we knew we needed to win

two from four games to surely cement a spot in the State Champs.

Three wins would be the icing on the cake with no doubts of getting

through.

First game we had a victory over Albury 74-41 solid but knew we needed to do more

to achieve what we wanted.

Second game against Canberra we finally clicked. The team as a whole played the best game

they have played all season, our defence was awesome which cemented a 56-40 victory.

Two from two wow, look what you can do!

The high from Saturday continued on to Sunday, although we only had 8 players with

Bianca fracturing her arm the day before against Canberra.

Although we went down to Western Reds we played well and knew that we could

give Coffs Harbour a run in our fourth game for the weekend.

With the support of fellow U16 div 2 women & U14 women who made the trip

back to the stadium to watch us play we turned it on again, our defence was strong, our

plays were working and the baskets dropped. We turned a half time 5 point deficit into a

7 point win 71-64. The atmosphere was electric.

The girls set themselves a task for the weekend which they achieved 3 wins from 4 games.

Well done. Believe in yourself you can do it.
