A strong contigent of Quebec Saint (playing in the Montreal Demons jerseys) players travellled to the home of Ottawa footy for, what will hopefully become a strong and lasting traditonal in Eastern Canadian Footy, the Pony Platter Fall Classic. The game played under near perfect conditions was close up until the last quater at which point the Saints pulled away to win by five odd goals in the end.
The Saints where served well on the day by Marc St Germaine who showed considerable dash through the field, the ever cool and composed Andrew Bell, Nathan Jacobs who showed his experience throughout the game and captain Dom Pitchen. A notable mention must go to Veronique Chasse who kicked her first goal in Australian Rules Football and would have had a second had not the siren sounded just as the ball was about to hit her foot.
The Quebec Saints would like to thank the Ottawa Swans, Umpires Myk Aussie and Richard Jenner, Photographer Nick Switzer and all the supporters from both teams who came along to the watch the game and make it an enjoyable day for all concerned. Nicks' photos can be viewed on his photgraphy facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/#!/media/set/?set=a.502337316452499.117568.482742315078666&type=3. (Open in a new tab)
A good night was then had by all who then attended the Ottawa Swans Awards Night. Congrats to all the winners/
