BASKETBALL AT THE NEXT LEVEL

Look at what some of Swan Hill's players and coaches are currently doing at the next level of basketball.

Nyawi Moore - Represented Victoria Country at the Southern Cross Challenge in January competing against the best players from Vic Metro, SA Metro & NSW. He has also been selected in the BVC NITP where he trains every Wednesday Night in Bendigo with other selected athletes under the guidance of WNBL Coach Simon Pritchard. He will attend the All State Combine Camp as 1 of 27 Under 16 boys in Melbourne on March 10 vying for a spot in the Under 16 Boys Vic Country Team.

Molly Brown - Represented Victoria Country at the Australian Country Junior Basketball Cup in Albury in January. She played with the U14 Girls Vic Country Goldminers and came runner up to NSW in the Gold Medal Game. She will attend the BVC Under 14 skills day in March hoping to be selected in the North West Academy with the aim of making the U15 Southern Cross Challenge in January 2018.

Sharon Denham - Coached the U18 Girls Victoria Country Goldminers to win the Gold Medal against the VC Bushrangers by 12 points. Sharon has been appointed as an Assistant Coach to the Victorian Country U18 Girls State Team that will compete at the Australian Junior Championships in Townsville in April, 2017. Later that month Sharon will travel to New Zealand to compete in the World Masters Games along with Jenny Gilbert and ex-Swan Hill team mates Jenny Harwood (Bice) Wendy Munro & Coach George Munro. This is the 5th World Masters the team has played in travelling to Melbourne 2002, Edmonton 2005, Sydney 2009 & Torino Italy 2013 winning 3 Gold Medals & 1 Bronze Medal.

Murray Treseder - SHBA Life member & legend coach now living in Perth WA has been recently appointed as mentor coach to the Australian Rollers campaign for the 2020 Paralympics. Murray has had success in previous years as Head Coach of the Australian Rollers Wheelchair team & also the Great Britain Wheelchair team. His coaching credentials are many at all elite levels and the SHBA are very proud to of his continued contributon to basketball.
