Coaches and Managers Meeting Notes

Complaints/Inquiries

·         To us and not directly to Tsv Football.

·         Even on Game Day track down a committee member, ring me and they will lodge the query/complaint with Tsv Football which can be followed up in writing from the Club

·         If playing in a competition (U9 & U10 Bidvest Challenge or Powerade Cup) vitally important that you know the rules of the competition you are playing in, in advance – don’t wait till it happens and then dispute it later.

·         All age groups particularly with the introduction of the OSSF learn the rules. Brochures for parents and team leaders before you go today.

·         Applications forms available today doesn’t cost anything.

·         If you already possess a current card, please provide it so that it can be copied today or at the next training session.

Communications

·         Website website website

·         Preference to communicate via e-mail as we find it more efficient, effective and timely. Draws, information between newsletters, training cancelled, etc

·         If you didn't receive a reminder about this meeting on Friday, please see Linda as you may not be on the distribution list.

·         Each team will have pigeonholes in the canteen area. It is one of the roles of the manager to ensure that they check and distribute if necessary, any information contained therein. Most of the time they will be empty but please inquire weekly when returning game sheets.

·         Some teams are a bit light on in numbers (no reserves) and assistance may be required to help out. Email me by Thursday night if you need numbers.

Equipment

·         Coaches & Managers are responsible for all equipment that is issued. We want it all back at the end of the year.

·         Don’t iron or tumble dry the playing shirts – Just fold them and ensure that if parents take them home that they know not to iron or tumble dry them.

·         Balls, cones, etc will break and you will require replacements. This will be on a replacement basis. Basically, you give me a busted ball and I will replacement it. Don’t throw it away and then come to me and ask for another ball or wait till the end of the year and only return some the equipment. Due to the large number of teams this year, there is very little equipment on hand. Training balls may be required to be pumped up on a weekly basis. We have a compressor available every training session.

·         Season Gate passes will be available at $50 each from Townsville Football.

·         Ensue that the players have plenty of water before and during training or games

·         Sunscreen if required

·         Different age groups will eceive a different amount of equipment. Please ensure that you have everything today before you sign as once you sign for it, that is what we expect back at the end of the season.

·         Training Bibs available from canteen on a day to day basis

·         Away strips (one for each age group) if playing another Rebels team. If you are the away team it is your responsibility to collect it and return it on the following Tuesday – not Thursday as they may have to be used the following week.

·         Goal Posts – Lock and chain to canteen. No kids

Coaching Clinics for new coaches

·         Appreciate that not all coaches want to coach teams but unfortunately the Club isn’t in a position to pay coaches and we have a number of older players (17 yo) coaching teams. I will endeavour to find coaches for your teams, but generally we rely on parents or older siblings to coach.

·         All coaches, Team Leaders, Managers and other Team Officials are required to be registered. There is a $25 charge to register coaches but the Club will pay the registration fee on your behalf. You will be issued Coach and Team Leader identification that must be worn at Tsv Football on game days. Also entitles you to free entry into Brolga Park. Managers will also be issued identification but you will have to pay to enter Brolgas Park.

Policy’s

·         All players have a water bottle and wear shin pads and boots to all games and training sessions.

·         Club’s polo shirts to be worn on game days to and from the grounds. We have an obligation to our sponsors.

·         Rules will be forwarded electronically once received – Check Tsv Football’s website for draws, rules etc. I will send a link add it to your favourites

·         Players to play in correct age group or complete Player Age Policy Form otherwise the Club gets fined.

Coaches & Managers

·         Represent Team and Club

·         Club supports and endorses the Code of Conduct of Supporters and Players

·         Encourage parents to make inquiries through you and then the Committee

·         Club Vision – 2nd Paragraph – “…The club culture will be one that is committed to a rewarding and enjoyable experience for all its members and supporters.” It isn’t about winning all the time.

·         Later on in the year, outstanding fees will have to be paid in full otherwise players will not be able to play. No exceptions, tough stance on this issue as in previous years. Easter is the deadline.

·         Importance of lodging Injury Reports with the Club and Tsv Football asap

·         Coaches and Managers have a responsibility to ensure that players don’t play in incorrect age groups. Clubs are to be fined $25 per occasion if player that hasn't been assessed to play in that age group

Game Day Sheets

·         Importance on filling them out correctly (qualifying for finals, injuries, fines imposed to club)

·         Score in words as well as numbers – not applicable for SSG’s.

·         Manager’s duty to collect game sheets (3 copies) from the Tsv Football office if you are the home team. If you are the away team, the other team’s manager should collect them and hand you all 3 copies to complete the team’s detail.

·         Original copy (White) must be handed into to the Tsv Football office immediately after the game, after both managers/coaches sign it so that the correct result is recorded

·         Yellow copy is home teams and Blue/Green copy is the away teams. This copy is required to be handed into our Clubhouse on the next training session. Please ensure that same information is recorded on all copies – particularly the score and who played.

·         Competitive Age Groups

·         Please ensure that the officials are recorded accurately, on all copies.

·         We pay for their services so if they don’t supply a referee or linesman, record the parent’s name that runs the centre or line and record it as CLUB supplied. We only pay for what we have to.

·         Home teams responsibility to supply officials should no one arrives to officiate.

·         Please check the point’s table that is distributed from time to time. Don’t leave it till the finals and they advise me that a mistake has been made back in Round 3.

·         Another Meeting if required – hopefully won’t be and usually isn’t required

·         Encourage new coaches & managers to seek assistance if not certain

·         Wear Club supporter’s shirts & caps to games and don’t be afraid to ask for a Rebel member’s assistance if you need it

That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
