7th Micronesian Games Logo
& Slogan
About the Logo:
The Micronesian Games Logo was designed by up and coming young artist Ms.Elsei Tellei. Elsei is well known for her artistic ability in the community. She is the daughter of Palau Community College President, Dr. Patrick Tellei and Mrs. Virginia Tellei. She is a junior currently enrolled in Mindzenty High School.
"This logo is meant to symbolize the spirit of the games and the goal that we hope to accomplish for the youth through participation in sports. The flame shape of the logo represents the spirit of athleticism. The Palauan man reaching for the moon is to represent the youth reaching out to other cultures and to achieve their goals as well. Lastly, the rock island and ocean in the background is meant to symbolize how Palauans draw their strength from both land and our sea, while the yellow moon in the blue sky is to represent our nation of Palau."
Elsei is not only artistic she is also an avid paddler with the Canoe Association of Palau and has competed in various local events.
Slogan: "Tia de Prerii"
"Tia de Prerii", roughly translated "We Will Make It Happen", is the slogan for the 2010 Micronesian Games. According to Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Mr. Frank Kyota, Palau is prepared and will deliver the games to the people of Micronesia. With the many shortfalls and challenges we face with our hosting responsibilities of the Games, Palau will host a phenomenal Games.
