Dear Associations,

The Australian Masters Games will take place in Geelong from the 5th – 12th October, and the basketball program will be one of the biggest amongst the 57 sports on offer. Registrations are currently open and the Organising Committee are working to ensure the basketball competition will become the largest ever held within Australian Masters Games history.

The Masters Games is open to participants over the age of 30 and this year's basketball competition will feature men's, women's, mixed, wheelchair and competitions for athletes with an intellectual disability.

 

The basketball event will be run by Basketball Geelong is supported by Basketball Australia and Basketball Victoria. To assist market the event to the wider Victorian basketball community, we are asking our member Associations to assist in promoting the event to Masters Community throughout the state.

 

Specifically, we ask each Association to play an active role with the following marketing initiatives:

 

Basketball promotional poster (print and electronic versions)

• An electronic file is attached which advertises the basketball competition and provides further event and registration details. We encourage you to place this flyer in any Club/Association newsletters, email communication, printed programs etc. you have coming up over the next few months. 
• The AMG Organising Committee do have a limited supply of printed event collateral (posters, postcards etc) and over the coming weeks, select venues will receive a small bundle of print material and asked to display them around their venue. Please note: If you no not wish to receive this printed collateral, please respond directly to this email.
