2010 Ends With a Celebration

The winter 2010 season saw 57 games over 19 weeks with 40 players.  In the A grade division 1798 points were scored and in B Grade 465 points.

Rollerblaze acknowledged the growing volunteer base with trophies presented by Anna Kassulke from GC Rec and Sport to Vincent Han, Jane Bailey, Laurie Ehlers, De Arne Brennan, Sandy Buckingham, Tayla Buckingham and Jaime Thompson.

B Grade coach Jaime Thompson presented the B grade All Star Five trophies to Cassie Brennan, Emma Colless, Rob Bailey, Gary Overliese and Louis Billet.  Jason Cadee, player with GC Blaze presented the A Grade All Star Five to Jaime Thompson, Gemma Buccholz, Scott Boland, Matthew McShane and Jo Salu.

Gary Hydes awarded his coaches awards to Gary Overliese and Jamie Stewart for their contribution to Saturday morning training sessions and on the courts Thursday nights.  Jamie Stewart named Rob Bailey and Deepak Dhessi as the most improved players during the season and presented them with gifts from the AIS in Canberra.

Two MVP awards were presented to Gary Overliese (B Grade) and Mat McShane (A Grade).

Darren and Kay from the Nerang Highalnd Park Lions Club presented the Lions Medal for outstanding service to the club to Gary Overliese and also a special encouragement award to Kirsty Bishop.

Laura Carver from the National Australia Bank presented the new Wicked Cup to the B Grade champions The Rollers.  NAB kindly donated the perpetual cup and medals during the season.  Dion Reweti presented the McNeil Cup - on behalf of the McNeil family - to 1029ers.

The annual Rollerblaze Team Spirit Award for the player who displays outstanding team spirit both on and off the court was awarded to Mathew Thompson.

The Courthouse Hotel provided a great venue with very professional staff who could not have been more helpful.
