Close to 50 people gathered at the Nerang Bowls Club to celebrate the end of the summer season of Rollerblaze social competition.  Mrs Ruby McNeil presented the McNeil Cup to Lions Captain, Adam Sheppard and Vice Captain Shelley Cronau.  Gold Coast Blaze provided 3 $50 gift vouchers which were won by Tiffany Lachlan, Deepak Dhessi and Sue - the guest of one of our players.

5 volunteers also received trophies in recognition of their service to the Thursday night competition:
Jane Bailey - scorer, Bruce Wilson - chair mechanic, Geoff Dowton - referee, Lauie Ehlers from Gold Coast Holistic Health - our remedial massage therapist and Emma Colless for her work building Rollerblaze Facebook Group.

Anna Kassulke, Manager of Gold Coast Recreation and Sport presented All Star Five trophies to Shelley Cronau, Justin McPherson, Adam Sheppard, Pup Cowie and Scott Boland.  Coach Gary Hydes presented his coaches awards for the season to Deepak Dhessi and Mat (Macca) McShane.  Matthew Thompson was presented with the MVP Perpetual Shield donated to the Club by Mudgeeraba-based Trophy Innovations and Engraving who supply all our trophies and medals.

Members of the Nerang Highland Park Lions Club were there to present the new Lions Medal for Outstanding Club Service to Lindsay Hall.  A meaningful medal which reflects the Lions maxim of "We Serve".

Dion Reweti of Team Wicked received the Highest Scorer Award from Dave Claxton CEO of GC Blaze. Dion played 9 games throughout the season scoring 94 points!

Mrs Ruby McNeil presented the Lions team members with McNeil medals:  Adam Sheppard, Shelley Cronau, Joe Salu, Kirsty Bishop, Dave Tait, Mat McShane and Sidney Bastos and in a very happy final presentation the highly sought McNeil Cup was presented to Adam and Shelley.

It was a happy day and augurs well for the 2010 winter season of social basketball in the Gold Coast region.
