Bellarine Storm 41 defeated Coburg (2) 34

Best Players: Kalan Tatlock, James MacKenzie and Will Herron

Game summary: Well done boys on yet another win.  The boys have finally come together as a team and are playing some great basketball.  Our defence is becoming solid and we are doing really well with our passes.  The boys come out firing on all cylinders and looked like we were going to be in for another awesome win.  Coburg gave us a scare in the 3rd quarter, pegging back the score, due to some bad passes and rushed shots.  Luckily we switched back on again and started looking after the ball.  I have to give a big well done to Kalan for some great intercepts, steals and even a couple of blocks.  This win now puts us fourth on the ladder.  This week we have a revenge game against Corio Bay who beat us by three points last time, hopefully this time we are the ones who are victorious.  Keep up the good work boys and I look forward to a great tournament at Ballarat on the weekend.

Bellarine Storm 32 lost to Geelong (3) 43

Best Players: Jack Lenan, Daniel Clifton, Sam Anderson.

Top Scorers: Sam Anderson (12), Daniel Clifton, Fraser Swan, Jack Lenan (6).

Game summary:

Unfortunately this was another game when the last 5 minutes cost us the game. After swapping the lead and only being down by 1 at the end if the third quarter we were unable to stop Geelong running away with this game. Again we got into foul trouble early and lost a few key players on the night. Jack Lenan had his game of the year so far and was involved in some great passing and team plays. The boys need to be a bit more patient in our build up to eliminate wasted opportunities. Our man to man defense was excellent for the first 3 quarters. Overall a good game against the top side.
