Vale Paul Simpson
It is with great sadness that we learned of the very tragic passing of Paul Simpson following an accident at Bells Beach .
Paul was a most dedicated member of the Melbourne Tigers Girls association and a great supporter and promoter of basketball . Paul was also a very committed and championship winning coach for a number of years in the state team program.No person has done more for womans basketball than Paul and he will be sadly missed.
The game of Basketball has lost an irreplaceable Coach,Mentor and Friend.
It appears that Paul lost his life in a very selfless act when on a school diving excursion students in his care got into difficulties and he went to ensure their safety. In doing so he paid the ultimate sacrifice.
On behalf of The Bellarine Storm program we extend our deepest sympathy to Pauls wife Nicki and daughter Sienna as well as Pauls family and the Melbourne Association on his sad passing.
