Bellarine Storm 38 lost to Melton (2) 41

Best Players: Ted Murphy, Ben Crombie, Jackson Smith

Top Scorers: Ted Murphy, Ben Crombie, Fletcher Byron

Game summary: This match was set to provide a challenge for both teams having competed at the recent Ballarat tournament. We started this game with two of our regular starters out with injury giving an opportunity for the depth and competitive spirit of our team to shine through. After an unsettled start we began to gain our composure and soon enough the shots on goal were rewarded and we were only down by four points at the first break. The second quarter went shot for shot in a tight contest. Once again we trailed by four. Throughout the game our ball movement against the zone got better and better and our accurate three point shooting kept us well in the game. A highlight for the game was a steal in the dying seconds of the third quarter by Jesse Hart which released Fletcher Byron forward who sped toward the three point line and hit buzzer beater to bring us within a point at the final break that gave the team a great lift. The final term was tough and once again good ball movement kept us in it this time attacking the paint as the defence opened up to defend our outside shooting. Unfortunately we couldn't quite match the Melton offence and their ten points to our eight was enough to secure them the win despite some last minute effort from the nights hot hand Ted Murphy who had a great night shooting five three pointers. An exciting game to be part of boys the result didn't go our way but a good effort none the less.

Under 12 Girls

Bellarine Storm 11 lost to Coburg 54

Best Players: Laney McFadyen, Tyla Gibson, Alannah Northam

Game Summary: The girls made a huge improvement from the last time we met this team and coming against the top team was always going to be difficult. However, the girls played a really good passing game getting out of the press quite well. It is very pleasing to see that their development is growing week by week.

Best Players: Agnes Emma-Nnopu, Lucy McEvoy, Sophie Milsome

Top Scorers: Agnes Emma-Nnopu (14 pts), Lucy McEvoy (12), Karli Bruce (8)

Game summary: After a successful Ballarat tournament and Lucy returning from injury the girls took to the court with confidence. A strong game for the girls, who managed their first win in a number of weeks and are now looking forward to the remainder of the season.

Best Players: Eve Braslis, Raini Matthews, Teagan Tatlock

Top Scorers: Eve Braslis (25 pts), Raini Matthews (9)

Game summary: It was a hard fought game with Frankston taking the lead early in the first quarter, but Bellarine regained control quickly. With Eve dominating in the paint, strong rebounding by the Storm girls, and lock-down defence in the final quarter, Bellarine were able to finish strong with a win.
