Storm Weekly Wrap! (Friday 14th August)

Storm Representative Program

Weekly Summary: Friday 14th August 2009

Welcome to our weekly wrap of the Storm Representative Program.

Under 12 Girls

Score: Bellarine 35 defeated Collingwood 25
Top Scorers: Madeline Hinkley (10pts), Hannah Barakat (8pts), Emily Baker (7pts),

Game Report:  A last minute change of venue saw the girls playing at MGC, which meant less driving so the girls arrived refreshed and ready to go! Leading the entire game, with the scores only level at 1 point in the first, the girls took control and came away with a convincing win. With only 1 more round left for the season, the girls need a win to be in the finals. So all fingers are crossed and all hopes pinned on defeating Keilor next week at their home court.

Ladder position after Rd 17: 6th (9-7)

Next Week: Friday 21st August: Bellarine vs. Keilor – at Keilor (6.40pm)

Under 12 Boys

Score: Bellarine 44 defeated Melbourne Tigers 29

Top Scorers: Kye Baulch (9pts), Ben Potter & Lachlan Campbell (8pts each)

MVP: Kye Baulch - A great scoring & running game by Kye with 5 x rebounds and 3 x assists.

Game Report:  After narrowly beating Melbourne Tigers in their last meeting, the Storm boys were primed from the start of the game with a strong defensive zone in place, which made it difficult for the Tigers to find a clear avenue to the net.  The Storm boys maintained the pressure throughout the match, causing the turnovers and finding easy points.  Again, a great effort by all the boys in the team and a boost to their confidence with finals fast approaching.

Ladder position after Rd 17: 1st (14-2-1)

Next Week: Friday 21st August: Bellarine vs. Keilor 2 – at Bellarine Sports Centre (6.40pm)
