Under 12 Boys (1)

Bellarine Storm 51 defeated Bulleen (3) 23

Under 12 Boys (2)

Bellarine Storm 35 defeated Westgate (2) 34

Best Players: Josh Ward, Tito Arnott and Jasper Blair

Game summary: The boys did well for their first game back after the Christmas break.  It was scrappy at times but so were Westgate.  There was some great team work and great rebounding.  Our defence was a bit sloppy at times.  Jasper Blair set up a couple of great plays.  We have a few things we can improve on but overall the boys did really well, considering their coach mucked up the game time and got there near the end of the 2nd quarter.  Thanks to Assistant Coach Mark for picking up the slack.  Well done boys keep up the good work.

Bellarine Storm 17 lost to Corio Bay (2) 63

Best Players: Sam Anderson, Riley Menzies

Top Scorers: Sam Anderson (6pts) Jye Thomas (4)

Game summary: The boys had a slow start to the game, unable to convert open looks at the basket. The boys listened well in training and improved remarkably in moving the ball and their inside defence however there needs to be more talking out on the floor. We picked up more in the final quarter with greater intensity, but this needed to happen from the start. Let’s work on this next week boys.

Under 18 Boys

Bellarine Storm 40 defetaed Melton 31

Under 12 Girls

Bellarine Storm 18 lost to Knox (2) 58

Under 14 Girls (1)

Bellarine Storm 49 defeated Eltham (2) 22

Under 14 Girls (2)

Bellarine Storm 18 lost to Westgate 32

Best Players: Tyla Gibson, Tahlia Taverna, Lily Davis

Game summary: The Under 14G (2) started slow which allowed the Westgate team to get a good lead by the end of the first quarter. The girls put up a better effort in the second and third quarters, however there were a number of turnovers that were turned into points on the board for Westgate.

The final quarter saw a much improved offensive and defensive effort with some good passing into the post allowing a number of players to go to the line and close the gap on the scoreboard. However the lead that Westgate had going into the final term was too great for us to catch up.

Under 16 Girls

Bellarine Storm 51 defeated Bulleen 34

Best Players: Eve Braslis

Top Scorers: Eve Braslis (22pts)

Game summary: This practice match was scrappy at the start and continued its scrappiness throughout by the Storm girls, with patches of good basketball in between.  Certainly not our best game.
