Game summary: Excellent game by the boys.  We were a bit slow to get started but once we did there was no stopping them.  The boys played an excellent team game in both defence and offence.  It was very hard to choose the best players as everyone stepped up this week and played well.  There were some great steals and some great passing.  The boys took a lot from the Colac Tournament and I couldn't have been prouder.  Now we just have to hope we can keep it up.  Excellent work boys.

Best Players: Jackson Smith, Henry Walsh, Baxter Nielson, Patrick White, Ben Crombie

Top Scorers: Henry Walsh, Baxter Nielson, Ben Crombie

Game summary: A solid hit out for our team in the last cross over game. The pressure game that we are developing was too much for our opponents and was the major reason for our six-point lead at the first break. It was pleasing to see the  continual pressure as each substitution was made throughout the quarter. The second and third quarters continued in the same fashion with our lead being extended at each break. At times our motion in offence was exceptional and our opponents had no answer for this. We tired in the last quarter being outscored but such was the buffer we had built up we always felt in control. Well done team.

Under 14 Boys (3)

Bellarine 54 defeated Coburg (4) 14

2014 VJBL Division: Regional

Best Players: Fraser Swan, Sam Anderson,

Top Scorers: Sam Anderson 17, Jack Lenan 15

Game summary: Great team effort this week with everyone contributing to the score sheet. More importantly there were some spectacular assists and unselfish plays from the boys. Jack Lenan stepped up with some good offensive rebounds and put backs, while Sam Anderson made a number of great drives to the basket. It is great to see the improvement in the last few weeks. Well done boys.

Under 16 Boys (2)

Bellarine 77 defeated Bacchus Marsh (2) 40

2014 VJBL Division: Regional

Best Players: Vincent Whelan, Clancy Whelan, Noa Boyd, Aiden Mackenzie

Top Scorers: Clancy Whelan 30, Vincent Whelan 16, Aiden Mackenzie 10, Noa Boyd 9

Game summary: Bellarine went into the game somewhat undermanned with only six players available.  This however did not stop the boys from putting in another solid team performance.  Once again our transition game and strong drives to the basket, particulary from Vincent Whelan  helped our scoring along.  Noah Boyd and Aidan Mackenzie played their best game for the season both taking the game on with some highlight reel drives and layups.  Everybody played their role and could quite easy be named in the best players.  With the season starting next week the boys are aware they will face tougher competition and will have to be at their best to get a win.

Round 1 - VC

Bellarine 65 defeated Kilsyth 49

Best Players: Eve Braslis

Top Scorers: Eve Braslis 24, Teagan Tatlock 14, Raini Matthews 8, Ella Cornish 7

Game summary: It was an adrenaline fuelled start for the girls after being held up in traffic, causing a delayed start to the game. They didn’t let this dampen their enthusiasm however and were quick to get the first score on the board. Kilsyth were close on our heels at times dominating the rebounds and shooting well in the third quarter, coming to within four points. The Storm girls however were very productive in the post and drives, as well as capitalising on some intercepts and steals, extending their lead. Coach and team were all happy and relieved with a win after a stressful lead up to the game.
