Bellarine Storm – VJBL Wrap
Friday 17th May 2013
Under 12 (2) Boys
Bellarine Storm 2 (27) defeated Werribee 3 (26)
Best Players: Kai Keenan and Sam Briggs
Top Scorers: Sam Briggs (8 pts)
Game summary: Bellarine won their second game in a row with a nail biting one-point win against Werribee. The boys are showing a greater level of aggression towards the ball and have gained an improved confidence. This has transferred into their passing and defence. A special highlight on Friday night was the domination they showed on the boards. The boys do need to learn to hold the ball when they are in the lead in the last minute, but this will improve with experience. It is great to see the improvement the boys have made in recent weeks and it is really starting to click.

Bellarine Storm 1 (71) defeated Latrobe (40)
Best Players: Eve Braslis (10 pts, 16 rebounds, 8 steals), Raini Matthews (18pts, 4 assists) Holly Milsome (15pts, 6 rebounds) and Teagan Tatlock (14pts)
Top Scorers: Raini Matthews (18pts), Holly Milsome (15pts) and Teagan Tatlock (14pts)
Game summary: The tone of the game was set initially by Latrobe, scoring a couple of quick goals. After an early time out for Storm, Coach Matthews reminded the girls to play their game at the speed and style they enjoy so much. After which, the Storm girls regained control of the game and did not look back, despite some foul trouble in the second half. They ran their offences diligently, were disciplined and relentless in their defence and were happy with the win.

Bellarine struggled offensively in the first half of the game, but managed to work as a team under pressure and persisted with their efforts coming away with a nine-point lead.
