Storm Weekly Wrap! (Friday 1st May)

Storm Representative Program

Weekly Summary: Friday 1st May 2009

Welcome to our weekly wrap of the Storm Representative Program.

Under 12 Girls

Score: Bellarine 43 defeated Diamond Valley 24

Top Scorers: Madeline Hinkley (15pts), Hannah Barakat (11pts), Lily Smith (6pts)

Game Report: Round 4 saw us playing Diamond Valley 3 "under lights" at Diamond Valley.  After an explosive 10-zip start to the girls settled in and held an impressive lead throughout the game.  Their defensive press was unbeatable and their teamwork was impressive.

Next Week: Friday 8th May: Bellarine vs Collingwood - at Bellarine Sports Centre (7.40pm)

Under 14 (B) Girls

Score: Bellarine 31 defeated Sunshine 16

Top Scorers: Allison Marsh (14pts), Paige O'Keefe (8pts), Sherri Panayi (7pts)

Game Report: The girls played well again.  Their team work was good and once again their defence was excellent.  The girls didn't let the height of the Sunshine girls intimidate them.  Their rebounding was a lot better this week as they didn't leave it all up to Ally, even though she pulled in 13 Offensive boards and 6 Defensive boards.  Once again, well done girls on a great team game.

Tyrene Kane (Coach)

Next Week: Friday 8th May: Bye

Under 14 (A) Girls

Score: Bellarine 66 defeated Craigieburn 41

Top Scorers: Lauren Moloney (14pts), Alice Teague-Neeld (11pts), Bree Matthews (10pts)

Game Report: A very even team effort saw the girls get over Craigieburn again (we played them in Grading to make VC) but this time we were much more convincing and our improvement was obvious! Our rotation between a press and man on "D" rattled our opponents and with our offence up and running the score clicked over nicely.  Well done girls (thanks to Pete & Mick for scoring and Adrienne & Wilma for the stats :)

Next Week: Friday 8th May: Bellarine vs Sunbury - at Bellarine Sports Centre (7.00pm)
