Under 12 Boys
Score: Bellarine 36 defeated Melbourne Tigers 30
Top Scorers: Ben Potter (8pts), Kye Baulch (7pts), Mitch Peers & Seb Thomason (5pts each)
MVP: Mitch Peers - He consistently applied defensive pressure throughout the match and never stopped running, finishing with 9 rebounds, 2 assists and 5 points.
Game Report: Friday night saw the boys travel to Werribee in the second week of the finals series in a do-or-die match against Melbourne Tigers. An excellent week on the training track was reflected on court with a tight first half and both teams playing a very good defensive game, which made it difficult to score inside. At the main break the Tigers had edged to a 4pt lead with some excellent outside shooting.
After the break the Storm boys lifted the intensity, increasing the defensive pressure further, which caused turnovers and allowed our boys to score more freely. The boys eventually pulled away from the Tigers, winning by 6pts. It was a great overall game by the boys and a confidence boost for next weeks game against Whittlesea.
