Game summary: This game saw third-placed Bellarine up against second-placed Craigieburn. We were looking forward to the return game on our home turf after being defeated last time at Craigieburn. Our plan was to start fast and hard, and work on denying the opposition’s scoring opportunities. The boys started very well creating plenty of opportunities to score starting with our biggest scoring quarter for the game and a five-point lead at the first break. The second quarter played out in a similar way to the first with more good possession and good hard work denying Craigieburn, and restricting them to just four points in this term. In the third Craigieburn made their run scoring more freely - while keeping us to only five points - they mounted a serious challenge to trail at the final break by only three points. The final term was fought out extremely well by both sides, trading goals and turnovers throughout. The scoring in this quarter was fairly even with the Craigieburn boys winning the quarter eleven to ten but it wasn't quite enough. Our good start being the difference in the end. I was particularly happy with our guards’ efforts in controlling the play in the final minutes and restricting and eventually preventing Craigieburn from running over the top of us. Well Done.

Under 16 Boys (2)

Bellarine Storm 51 defeated Eltham (8) 19

Best Players: Clancy Whelan, Dale Perkins, Lachlan Hart, Kai Murphy

Top Scorers: Clancy Whelan (15pts), Lachlan Hart (13), Kai Murphy (10)

Game summary: The boys put in their best team performance for the season which is reflected in the winning margin and spread of scorers. The boys were switched on from start and it was pleasing to have such a commanding lead early.  Another pleasing factor about the game was team morale was at an all-time high with many players hitting up open teammates for easy finishes in close.

Dale Perkins was fantastic on defence making a number of early steals and provided good help defence all night.  Vincent Whelan made the highlight reel was strong right handed layup in traffic also drawing the foul.  Clancy Whelan, Lachie Hart & Kai Murphy were all solid contributors on offence.  Overall it was our best team game for the season which I hope continues for our remaining games.

Bellarine Storm 47 defeated Knox (2) 27

Best Players: Agnes Emma-Nnopu, Lucy McEvoy, Imogen Sharp

Top Scorers: Agnes Emma-Nnopu (18 pts), Lucy McEvoy (12)

Game summary: The girls continued their winning streak with a twenty point win over Knox (2).  The girls led at every break, and with a strong second half managed their biggest win of the season.  A great team effort this week, the girls aiming to finish the season strong, hopefully with a spot in the finals.

Under 14 Girls (2)

Bellarine Storm 26 defeated Bacchus Marsh (2) 18

Under 16 Girls

Bellarine Storm 59 lost to Nunawading 70

Top Scorers: Eve Braslis (20pts), Raini Matthews (8pts, 4 assists), Teagan Tatlock (8pts, 3 assists)

Game summary: A blistering first quarter saw the girls take control of the game early, but there were still three quarters to be played. Whilst the girls put in a great effort in offence, sadly it was their D that was less than stellar which meant a great shooting Nunawading finished with the win.
