Bellarine Storm 14A Girls to create History
Congratulations to our Under 14 (A) Storm Girls, and Coaches Brendon Matthews & David Burke!! The team have made history, becoming the Association’s first team to make the Victorian Championship (VC) division of the VJBL, since first entering teams in 2005.
A fantastic effort over recent months has seen the girls finish atop their Group in Pool AA, winning the right to play in VC in 2009.
The core group of players have been together for a number of years, and have already had some success together winning the VJBL Metropolitan Division 2 in 2007 and Division 4 in 2008. Along with a win at the Country Championships (Division 2) in Bendigo in 2008.
2009 will be a big step up for the girls, as they compete against some of the State’s power-house Associations, including Dandenong, Eltham, Bulleen, Diamond Valley and Nunawading.
The girls tip off the season at home this Friday night (6th March) versus Knox Raiders on Court 1 at Bellarine Sports Stadium at 8.20pm.
