Under 12 Boys (2)

Bellarine 2 (50) defeated Melton 3 (27)

Best Players: Eoin McNolty, Alex White, James McKenzie

Game Report: The boys came out firing in the first half.  The team was great and defence was spot on.  The boys were taking smart shots and at the end of the first half the score was 28 to 10.  The boys had a bit of a nap in the second half and made some sloppy passes and silly shots.  I am extremely proud of how hard the boys are working and that they are listening to what I am teaching them at training and we are starting to see how it works on the court.  Keep up the excellent work boys.

Under 14 Boys (1)

Bellarine Storm 51 defeated Frankston 45

Top Scorers: Riley Coghlan (18), Hamish Goodier (14)

Best Players: Riley Coglan, Hamish Goodier, Ryson McHenry, Jeb Taylor-Hewson

Game summary: The boys began really strongly jumping to an eight point lead with our offence working well. Our defensive pressure was superb with Riley starring at both ends of the court, grabbing rebounds and outlet passes setting up our runners. We held on for a well-deserved win for the boys.

Under 14 Boys (2)

Bellarine Storm 60 defeated Sunbury (3) 32

Best Players: Ben Crombie, Baxter Nielson, Fletcher Byron, Jesse Hart

Top Scorers: Ben Combie, Baxter Nielson, Fletcher Byron

Game summary: This was our second trip to Sunbury in as many weeks. Our goal to turn the tables and come away with a win. The boys started well putting the Sunbury team under immediate pressure and we were able to close out the first quarter with a five point lead. The second quarter set us up for the rest of the game, our switch from full court man press to a full court zone piled on the pressure and the results came. The number of turnovers increased helping us to an eleven point advantage by half time. Our offensive ball movement at times was exceptional and wonderful to watch. The third quarter was more of a battle and for the first time in the game Sunbury were able to gain some momentum. However the boys rallied in the fourth to score twenty four points to five to run away with it. Team spirit and camaraderie was evident and exciting for all the players, coach and parents to be part of.  Well Done!!

Under 14 Boys (3)

Bellarine 41 defeated Werribee (5) 36

Best Players: Fraser Swan, Daniel Clifton, Harry Edwards, Sam Anderson.

Top Scorers: Daniel Clifton (11), Sam Anderson (8), Harry Edwards (8)

Game summary: A good win after a few close losses. The boys started aggressively and got away to a comfortable lead at half time. We let Werribee get back in the third when a few key players got into foul trouble. We managed to protect the ball well to hold off a fast finishing opposition. Finishing the game with only four players didn't help our cause. Highlights of the night included some very impressive rebounding from Fraser against a much taller opposition and the number of assists from some of the boys that led to made baskets. Well done boys.

Bellarine 51 lost to Knox (2) 53

Best Players: Eve Braslis, Quinn Murphy

Top Scorers: Eve Braslis (18), Quinn Murphy (9), Raini Matthews (6)

Game summary: Despite getting off to a cracking start in the first with a ten-point lead, Bellarine gave away the second and third quarters to the winless, yet hard-working Knox (2) side. It was a disappointing game for the girls and they will be looking to redeem themselves next Friday at home against a tough Ballarat side.
