Welcome to the home of the Ararat Basketball Association (ABA).

The Association is a member affiliate of Basketball Victoria and is goverened by Basketball Victoria Country.

The ABA formed in 2015 as an incorporated association after having been run by the YMCA for many years.

We are responsible for the running of the Ararat domestic basketball competition, the Redbacks Representative Squad basketball teams, Little Redbacks and the futsal competition.

The ABA is committed to providing the opportunity for local basketball and futsal players to be involved in competitions which are enjoyable, safe and welcoming to their participants and members. The ABA also aims to provide basketball and futsal players with the opportunity to represent their town in the Redbacks Representative Squad teams within their age group.

Two seasons are held each year.  The summer season is run over Terms 1 and 2 and the Winter season is run over Terms 3 and 4.  Finals are held at the end of each season in June and December.

Senior players are able to enter a team in the Senior competion held on Wednesday nights.  Junior players are entered into teams after registering.  U12s play on Wednesday afternoons and U14, U16 and U18s play on Mondays.

This season we are excited to announce that we are running our first ever all girl's competition in a 4 x 4 format as part of an initiative to involve more females in the sport.
