When Dr. James Naismith came up with the idea for the game of basketball in Canada in December of 1891, it was a designed as a way of keeping football players in shape over the winter months. Something tells me he didn't have playing in the Western Australian summer months in mind!

This weekend we sweltered in 36 and 37 degree heat at the WABC, making conditions oppressive and draining. Congratulations to all participants for making it through the weekend under the circumstances, whilst playing some good basketball.
