Roy Prosser Medal

·       Roy's achievements over his 48 years of service include:

Being instrumental in having WA Country admitted to the BA National Junior Championships in it’s own right. Before Roy's involvement, WA only sent one team in each age group, mostly made up of Metropolitan athletes. There were very few opportunities for Country athletes to be involved at a National level.

    Instrumental in having WA attend the Australian Junior Country Cup in Albury each January

Instrumental in commencing the Country Referee Development Program.

ttended 48 out of 50 Country Championships as a player, referee, coach, administrator & commissioner

Roy was part of the Executive that initiated the building of the new stadium.

 

The "Roy Prosser" medal will be  awarded annually to a Referee for outstanding performance at the Country Cup. The inaugural winner of the medal is Lee Ninnis from Geraldton.

The medal was presented at the conclusion of the Under 16/18 championships by Roy's daughters, Peta Santella and Vicki Bartholomei.
