The Handball Association of Victoria is the biggest provider of school handball in Melbourne and Australia reaching 5000 school students each year . Based in Melbourne and with the support of the European Handball Federation(EHF) we teach students how to play handball and teachers how to teach Handball, linked to the Victorian curriculum. Using The Olascoaga Teaching Method for Physical Education and Sport Handball should be taught as a game based on technical skills, tactical knowledge and the ability to improvise. The teacher must plan his/her lessons in a way that demands brain activity from the students. It can be done through: - Small and tactical games, where the students constantly must ask themselves questions. Who should I pass to? Where do I run? Do I dare to dribble? - Functional exercises as close as possible to the real game. The players mustbe put in such situations perceive, evaluate, decide and act within a very short time. - Giving tasks with several solutions and asking the students to find the best solution based on their experiences.
