ARAFURA GAMES COACHES ANNOUNCED

Basketball Northern Territory are pleased to announce the appointments of Coaches to the Arafura Games Men’s and Women’s Teams.

 

MEN’S TEAM

Assistant Coach – Ryan Marshall

Ryan Marshall has been appointed to the position of Assistant Coach of the Arafura Games Men’s team.  Ryan brings many years of experience and involvement with the Arafura Games as a player and former Assistant Coach.  This experience will compliment Head Coach Michael MacLean’s knowledge of the game and the NT style of play.  In 2016 Ryan was appointed Assistant Coach of the Under 16 Boys team that participated in the Australian Junior Championships.  Ryan currently coaches the TV Jets Under 18 Division 1 Boys team.

 

WOMEN’S TEAM

Head Coach – Rod Tremlett
Rod Tremlett has been appointed Head Coach of the Women’s team.  Basketball NT’s High Performance Manager brings many years of coaching experience to the position, including being a former Head Coach of the Northern Territory Arafura Games Women’s team that won Gold in 2009.

 

Assistant Coach – Jo Farmer

Jo has been appointed as an Assistant Coach to the Arafura Games Women’s team. Jo has been associated with the Australian Defence Force Basketball program for many years as a Coach and a player. More recently Jo was the Head Coach of the NT Men’s ADF team, has been an Assistant Coach with the Razzle Basketball League Women’s team and also plays an active role in the development of junior players for the Razzle Club.

 

Assistant Coach – Chris Sargent

Chris Sargent has been appointed to the role of Assistant Coach for the Arafura Games Women’s team.  Chris has been involved in coaching in the Darwin Basketball Association and Northern Territory representative teams for many years.  Chris is currently the Head Coach of the Tracy Village Jets Women’s team.
