NORTHERN TERRITORY UNDER 18 COACHES ANNOUNCED
Basketball Northern Territory are pleased to announce Head Coach appointments for the 2019 Under 18 Girls and U18 Boys teams who will be participating in the Australian Junior Championships to be held in Townsville, Queensland from 13 -20 April 2019.
UNDER 18 GIRLS
The NT Under 18 Girls team will be coached by Jason Ahsam. Jason was last year’s NT Under 18 Boys Assistant Coach. He has been involved with multiple Northern Territory teams as a player and Coach. At club level he has coached teams over many years from under 10s through to League Men.
In 2018 Jason completed BA’s Coach Developer course and his Association (Level 2) coaching accreditation.
UNDER 18 BOYS
The NT Under 18 Boys team will be coached by Brett Maksimovic. Brett was the 2018 Head Coach of the NT Under 16 Boys team. Brett hails from Adelaide where he coached at both Central Districts and Woodville. He impressed in 2018 with the professionalism of his team preparation and is very keen to continue his association with Northern Territory representative basketball.
Upon being advised of his appointment Brett said “This year I had a great experience with the Under 16 Boys. I was impressed with the energy and enthusiasm the group consistently brought to the court from start to finish. I’m looking forward to continuing to work with what promises to be another group of talented athletes for 2019”.
