Referees - We need your help at the Challenge

“The Challenge caters for players aged 11 through to 17, and with 40 teams expected to participate, we need a lot of referees to help us.  The benefits to refereeing at such an event are enormous. Darwin referees will have the opportunity to work with referees from other cities, and will also have the opportunity to undertake referee education and evaluation as part of the event.”

We anticipate bringing a number of highly qualified and experienced officials to help with the event, and with a great response from local referees, together we should be able to host a really successful event.

Referees will be paid a nominal fee to officiate games. “While we do not have the financial capacity to pay DBA referee fees, we will provide a small fee as well as a whole lot of appreciation.  As an incentive to participate in the event, we do not charge a team nomination fee.  This means that our pool of funds to cover the event costs is reduced.  Coaches and score bench officials will not be paid, so we hope referees will ‘get on the band wagon’ and offer their services for the event,” said Judy

That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand.
