This is a bi-annual event, sponsored and organised by Air New Zealand, as a social way of encouraging players to extend their “playing careers" among all standards of players around the world.
The event alternates between the northern hemisphere and the southern hemisphere and is a great way to participate with like minded people over the age of 35 years, while enjoying some fun and sightseeing at the same time.
The Supporters Club has been represented at all festivals since 1983, which was the first festival and was held in Auckland (New Zealand). Subsequent festivals have then been held in Vancouver (Canada) 1985, Campbelltown (Australia) 1987, Bournemouth (United Kingdom) 1989, Fiji 1991, Hong Kong 1993, Christchurch (New Zealand) 1995, Dublin (Ireland) 1997, Brisbane (Australia) 1999, Vancouver (Canada) 2001, Fiji 2003, Amsterdam (Netherlands)2005, Argentina 2007, and Adelaide (Australia) 2009.
The next festival (15th) is being held in Edinburgh (Scotland) from 17-24 July 2011. At this time the Club is taking names of those interested in attending. Make contact to join in.
The location for the 2013 festival will be announced during the Edinburgh event in 2011.
You do not have to be a representative player to join in the fun and camaraderie of this festival of fun, friendship and fraternity. You must join Supporters Club to travel as part of our Group.
