The Club is regularly supplying assistance to the Canterbury Hockey Association. This assistance takes the following forms:
Hosting Visiting Teams
When there are representative tournaments or international teams visiting Christchurch members of the Club provide assistance taking on the role of liaison officers. The function of a liaison officer is to assist visiting teams with information about the city and act as an intermediary between the team and the Canterbury Hockey Association.
Facility Support
When major tournaments or events are hosted at Porritt Park, members of the Club take on roles that assist in the smooth running of the facility. Examples of roles include security, car park attendances, ticket sales.
If you are willing to be called on to assist with some of these tasks occasionally, please let us know and we will include you on our list. This is quite a rewarding time, especially liaising with some of the visiting teams.
Representative Team Photos
The Club uses funds raised each year to pay for a team photo for all Canterbury representative players from Under 18 and below (i.e. Under 18, Under 16 and Primary representative teams).
Canterbury Hockey Supporters Club Lounge
The Club provided a grant to the Canterbury Hockey Association to support the upgrade of the lounge in 2002. In exchange for this support the lounge is formally known as the Canterbury Hockey Supporters Club Lounge.
